He was 75 and lived in Claymont, Del. Richard, an ordained bishop, enjoyed teaching and taught not only Philadelphia schoolchildren, but adults at the Gospel Crusade Bible School, which he started in 1968. He also taught arts and crafts to seniors at the Kingwood Community Center in Wilmington. "He loved that," said his wife, the former Esther Parham. "He considered that his ministry." Richard was an artist himself, and his watercolors - of sea scenes, landscapes, still lifes and portraits - hang in the homes of many family members and friends. He would give them as gifts at weddings, holidays and other occasions. He was born in Philadelphia to Richard Antrom Jr. and the former Amelia Dorn. He grew up in the 56th Street and Wyalusing Avenue neighborhood of West Philadelphia and graduated from Overbrook High School. He went on to Cheyney University, graduating in 1957, and then to the Manna Bible School, from which he graduated in 1966. Besides teaching elementary grades in Philadelphia, he also was involved in the homebound program, teaching children who couldn't leave their homes. He and his wife were married in 1996. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Linda Felker and Annette Creque; two sons, Richard Antrom IV and Brian Antrom; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Randy and Kevin Heyward; a stepdaughter, Cynthia McLean, and four stepgrandchildren.
