She was 76 and lived in the city's Belmont section. She was born in Salem, N.J., to Edgar and Ethel Warrick. The family moved to Philadelphia where she grew up. Dancing and singing were her special joys in her youth, and as a mother she enjoyed telling folktales to her children, instilling in them a lifelong love of writing and art. Her marriage to J. Decarsta Webster ended in divorce in 1982, and she went to an adult-learning center to train on word processors and computers, enabling her to land the job with the Philadelphia Orchestra. She retired in 1997. After her retirement, Janet returned to singing with the senior choir of Sharon Baptist Church. She was an active member of the church and enjoyed working with younger children. "She had a quirky sense of humor and loved to laugh," her family said. "Everyone around her was warmed by her fun nature, including her ability to laugh at herself. "Janet always had a smile and affectionate greeting for everyone she saw. Her belief in God and the Bible was always communicated with wit and nonjudgment. "She believed that no one was a bad person, just a child of God who made mistakes. This allowed her to be a forgiving and committed mother, wife and friend to all who knew her." She is survived by two daughters, Linda and Joyce; seven sons, Decarsta, Tyrone, Larry, Jeffery, Phillip, Vincent and Zachary; two brothers, Edgar and Leroy; three sisters, Henrietta, Elsie and Winifred; 19 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Services: Memorial service 10 a.m. tomorrow at Sharon Baptist Church, 3955 Conshohocken Ave. Burial will be in Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills. *
